The destination is renowned for its exceptional trophy rainbow trout fishing in crystal clear waters and is considered one of the best such fishing areas in the world. The lodge is strategically located in a protected bay, just a short walk from the mouth of the Barrancoso River, the only major tributary of Strobel Lake. This area is considered the most productive part of the lake and one of the best trophy rainbow trout fishing grounds in the world. From the comfort of the lodge lounge, guests can watch the anglers catch the fish of their lives, often just a few meters from the door.

The trophy rainbow trout fishing at Strobel Lake remains exceptional, but now it is complemented by amenities and services that match the quality of the experience. Jurassic Lake offers the perfect combination of wild Patagonian nature, legendary fishing and luxurious accommodation. A destination that is on the wish list of fly fishermen the world over.

In the early seasons, guests stayed in simple tents along the shore, but today the camp has been transformed into a modern, comfortable lodge. After a complete renovation and expansion in 2016, Jurassic Lake Lodge can accommodate up to ten anglers. Single and double rooms are available, all with private bathrooms and hot water.

Despite its extremely remote location, the lodge remains connected to the world with satellite phones, satellite TV and high-speed internet. Electricity is provided 24 hours a day by a solar power plant.

When not on the water, guests enjoy authentic Patagonian hospitality. Meals are prepared by the in-house chef, and the dishes are hearty and full of flavor. The menu includes the famous Argentine asado grills, dishes made from local Patagonian lamb, and other specialties. Meals are accompanied by a selection of top-quality Argentine wines, and the bar has an extensive collection of single malt and blended whiskeys.
