Estancia Cristina
Glacier King lodge is located within Los Glaciares National Park in an exceptional location that is almost inaccessible on foot or by vehicle.
We are extremely privileged to have access to the mysterious headwaters of the mighty Caterina River, the only known migration route for Atlantic King Salmon in the area. Although Patagonia is a world-renowned sport fishing destination, this location remains hidden and accessible to only a few.
Renowned for their incredible strength and unforgettable escapes, King Salmon are considered the pinnacle of any Spey angler. The season runs from late December to mid-April, when huge numbers of salmon travel up the river. The peak of the migration usually occurs between January and mid-March, when both the numbers and size of the fish are truly impressive.
Fishing at this location is something special, as the strength and endurance of these fish surpass most freshwater species in the world. Fish weighing between 14 and 21 kilograms are quite common, while specimens between 28 and 30 kilograms are also common. A specimen estimated to weigh approximately 41 kilograms was caught in the 2018 season, further confirming the exceptional potential of this unique destination.
