Bella Sofia is a fishing lodge on the Gallegos River, nestled in the heart of Estancia Bella Vista, a working sheep ranch spread across thousands of acres of pristine wilderness where condors soar and foxes and armadillos roam the expanses. It is located approximately 100 km from the town of Río Gallegos and its international airport.

The number of guests is limited to six anglers per week, allowing for complete personal attention and expert guidance for each individual. Bella Sofia offers each guest over 10 kilometres of river per day, ensuring exceptional privacy and making it one of the most exclusive fishing lodges in South America.

About 100 km from Río Gallegos and its international airport, the lodge maintains the character of a family home, offering five single rooms and one larger double room, all with private bathrooms and privacy. The living area with fireplace, sofas and armchairs invites you to relax, while the adjacent winter garden features a cozy piano bar where you can enjoy a draft beer, wine or other drinks at the end of the day.

Much of the food comes from the lodge’s own garden, so meals are always fresh and nutritious. They bake their own bread and make homemade jams. Breakfast is based on eggs cooked to your liking, while for lunch they offer steak, lamb or game, and they also cater for vegetarians. If you have any special requests or dietary restrictions, they are happy to accommodate them. Dinner is a bit lighter and includes chicken, fish or seafood, complemented by soup or salad, and carefully selected wines that represent the superior knowledge of Argentine winemakers.

Guests have access to a comfortable area to change into and out of their fishing gear. The lodge uses solar energy to provide electricity, reducing the use of fossil fuels. It is the first and currently only lodge in South America to use a wood pellet stove for heating, for both guests and staff. They live and work in a stunning natural environment and are committed to sustainable and environmentally friendly practices.
