Agua Negra
The Agua Negra River is a major tributary of the Sécure River and is considered one of the most interesting fishing destinations in the Bolivian rainforest.
The lower Agua Negra River has the characteristics of a floodplain river with a low head and slow flow, but with exceptionally clear water. The river winds through a valley with numerous sandy beaches, deep pools and shelters, which provide excellent habitat for strong populations of dorado and yatorana. The upper part of the river is considered one of the greatest gems of the Tsimane program, offering exceptional numbers and sizes of dorado, pacú and yatorana. The shallow, crystal clear waters and rocky bottom make it a perfect location for sight fishing and precision fly fishing. Fishing in this section is done by walking upstream and searching for fish in the shallows, pools and deeper rapids. Floating lines, long leader lines and precise, discreet fly presentation are recommended for success. The middle part of the upper Sécure River extends from the village of Ushwea to the confluence of the Chimoro and Sécure rivers. Fishing is done by walking downstream, and transportation is done in traditional dugout canoes. The river is shallow and open in this section, with sandy banks, similar to rivers in lowland rainforest. The clear water gradually becomes colored by sediments from the high plateaus, and the submerged trees and underwater structures provide ideal hiding places for large dorado.
The Chimoro stream originates in the same mountain range as the Agua Negra river and is a small, crystal-clear stream with a large population of medium-sized dorado (up to about 7 kg) and numerous yatora. The specialty of this stream is the possibility of fishing with light tackle - even with class 5 rods, small jigs and even dry flies. Catching a 5-6 kg dorado on a light rod in a small stream is an extremely adrenaline-pumping and unforgettable experience.

Agua Negra Lodge is a comfortable jungle lodge built from sustainably harvested wood from the surrounding jungle. Guests can also choose to stay in campsites at the headwaters of the Agua Negra River, as well as take day hikes and fishing trips to the Chimoro Stream. The lodge offers three tented cabins and can accommodate up to four anglers and one guide, providing a very intimate and exclusive experience. Guests stay in double rooms with private bathrooms, comfortable beds, hot water and electricity. Free Wi-Fi, a fishing tackle laundry service and a fly shop are also available.
Guests enjoy international cuisine, complemented by a selection of fine Argentine, Chilean and Bolivian wines. The elegantly decorated living and dining area also features an all-inclusive bar with spirits, liqueurs and specialty cocktails.
